Working with dMFK architects, FORA stripped this building back to its elegant frame, creating airy spaces that maximise natural light and are filled with bright, collaborative co working spaces. The latticed exterior brickwork by Webb Yates Engineers allows subtle light to permeate throughout while newly created glazed openings at ground level and lower floors maximise daylight across the offices and communal lounges. In addition, premium insulation and solar panels contribute to sustainability efforts in reducing energy consumption. York House also features advanced sustainable materials such as flooring made from recycled tyres and laminated timbers, a rainwater harvest system and natural air ventilation, the Work Space has achieved a BREEAM excellent certification. The terraces stretching the length of the 7th floor are clad in plum-coloured bricks and offer additional outdoor space for gatherings such as alfresco meetings and lunches.
