About The Leather Market
The Leather Market is a Grade II listed Victorian building on Weston Street, Bermondsey, built in 1833 as the London Leather, Hide and Wool Exchange. Its facade still carries the original carved roundels depicting the tannery trade. Workspace runs it today as unfurnished, flexible office and studio space, centred around a central courtyard.
The ground floor and communal areas were recently refreshed, adding phone booths and an outdoor area with pergolas. The Taper Studios wing, with its mezzanine floors, offers a more private working environment while keeping access to the building's shared spaces.
Offices range from around 5 desks up to full floors of 100-plus people, and Workspace can combine adjoining units for larger teams. The building has six on-site meeting rooms, including an 18-person boardroom, plus showers, bike storage and parking.
The Leather Market has its own on-site cafe and a pub, The Leather Exchange, dating from 1878. It is a short walk from Borough Market, Bermondsey High Street and Maltby Street Market, and about 7 minutes from London Bridge station.
