    The Client

Butternut Box: Europe's fastest-growing fresh dog food subscription brand (B-Corp certified).

Their mission: to put the food back into dog food, helping dogs live healthier, happier, longer lives, with humans smiling after every interaction.

    The Brief

Butternut Box began with a simple idea: dogs deserve better food. From cooking fresh meals in a kitchen and hand-delivering the first boxes, they've grown into Europe's fastest-growing fresh pet food brand.

With that growth came a new chapter, and Butternut Box wanted a new headquarters that felt as fresh and vibrant as their brand, welcoming every member of the team, dogs included.

    The Search

When we first met Butternut Box, their team was based in a serviced office in White City. Rapid growth meant they had outgrown that space and were ready to create a headquarters of their own - one that truly lived up to their ambition of being "the greatest place you've ever worked."

After taking their brief, our team conducted a full market search to uncover every suitable option for their new home. While the initial focus was on White City, we soon widened the search to include Hammersmith and Soho. Working closely with the Butternut Box team, we shortlisted the best spaces and joined them on all viewings to help refine their options.

Their perfect match was found at Gateway Central, part of White City Place. The CAT A space offered expansive views, abundant natural light, and the blank canvas they needed to build an office that was both functional and infused with their brand personality.

    The Fit-Out

Butternut Box wanted their workspace to reflect their bold, playful brand while also prioritising productivity and well-being. To bring this vision to life, we introduced them to three trusted fit-out partners we knew could deliver. After reviewing proposals, the team chose to collaborate with Thirdway, a London-based design and fit-out collective known for projects with brands such as TodayTix, ME+EM, Proper Snacks, Michael Kors, and Formula E.

    The Space

The final design was inspired by the joyful ritual of taking a dog for a walk. The office combines a variety of spaces: focused desk areas, private phone booths, collaborative zones, multiple meeting rooms, a reception area (complete with a dog food fridge), and a dedicated creative studio. At its heart sits The Park, the largest meeting room, featuring auditorium-style seating and a conversation pit that encourages connection and creativity.

Every detail reflects the Butternut Box ethos. Dog treats await at reception, bowls can be found in the kitchen, and beds are tucked neatly under desks. It's a space where both people and pets feel at home.

It was a true pleasure working with the Butternut Box team on this project and seeing their vision come to life.
